This section is SO important and often overlooked.
On average our members spend about 3 hours with us each week. That’s if you come to 4 sessions a week. This means that you have another 165 hours every week when you may not be doing enough.
This is where the extra activity comes in. Many of you have heard about getting 10.000 steps in each day and we believe this is important too.
If you aim for at least 8000 steps each day, you may feel it’s more achievable and everything above is a bonus.
Doing 2-3 10 minute walks each day is a great way of doing it, it doesn’t have to take 90 minutes.
Take an chance you get to move more. Walk an extra block to the train, or on the way home if you’re short on time. Walk the escalator, don’t take the lift up at work.
Stand up every 30 minutes and walk around, do some squats, push ups whatever it is that you can do.
Anything you do outside of planned training is EDA – Extra Daily Activity. It is a very important step to get better results.
It’s called N.E.A.T – Non-exercise Activity Thermogenesis. We call it EDA, just because.
It is the energy expended for everything we do that is not sleeping, eating or sports-like exercise. It ranges from the energy expended walking to work, typing, performing yard work, undertaking agricultural tasks and fidgeting.
